Pineapple Cottage Reviews

“The location was just what we were looking for — serene and peaceful — yet close to all the Maui attractions. It was such a joy to relax at Pineapple Cottage after fun-filled days exploring nature. Steve and Ivy are extremely helpful in giving advice on what to do and where to go the 'local way.' The cottage is cozy, and the view off the balcony is lovely. For us, it was a wonderful 6-week stay!”

“The Pineapple Cottage is amazing… perfect for two couples. The kitchen is well stocked, the lanai is ideal for relaxing, and the grounds are beautiful and private. Steve was super helpful when we had car issues. The location is perfect for exploring the North Shore, Upcountry, Haleakalā, and the Road to Hana. This place truly deserves its 5-star rating.”

“What a jewel to celebrate our anniversary! Tranquil, secluded, and immersed in nature—overlooking treetops, banana trees, and ocean views. The cottage was comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and thoughtful touches like guidebooks and sunscreen. Steve and Ivy were gracious and nearby if needed. We’re already planning our return.”

"We wish we could give 6 stars! This was a true island paradise. We were welcomed with homemade banana bread, wine, macadamia nuts, chocolates, and jam—what a lovely touch! Mornings on the lanai with island coffee were magical. The location was ideal for all our adventures, and Steve and Ivy were the perfect hosts—attentive but never intrusive.”

“We couldn’t be happier! Everything was spotless, and the views were stunning. Steve and Ivy welcomed us with treats and helpful advice. The location in Paia is close to great restaurants and shops. The kids loved Baby Beach, and we even spotted sea turtles! The cottage was beautifully decorated and very family-friendly.”

"We had an amazing week in Maui’s rainforest. We're not resort people, so Pineapple Cottage was exactly what we wanted. Each day began and ended on the lanai with stunning views and bird songs. It was gorgeous and rejuvenating.”

“We visit Maui often and like trying new areas. This year we chose Haiku and were lucky to find Pineapple Cottage. Tucked down a private road, it felt like a hidden gem. The hosts were wonderful, and we were spoiled with fruit from their garden and Ivy’s amazing banana bread. We stayed three weeks and would love to return again and again.”

A true little paradise – even more beautiful than the photos! It is honestly hard to put into words just how much we loved our stay at Ivy and Steve’s Pineapple Cottage. The cottage is so much more beautiful in real life than the photos can possibly show. From the moment we arrived, it felt like our own little tropical paradise. The setting is absolutely magical. The cottage is tucked away in a lush tropical garden, surrounded by beautiful plants and fruit trees, with an incredible view stretching all the way to the ocean. It is wonderfully peaceful and quiet. Sitting on the lanai, listening to the sounds of nature, the little coqui frogs in the evening and the stream running below the property, was incredibly calming. The whole place has such a warm, cozy and peaceful atmosphere. The lanai became one of our favorite places. There is a wonderfully comfortable sofa where we could relax, enjoy the garden and watch the most beautiful sunsets. We also loved the barbecue and ended up grilling there many evenings. Those quiet evenings outside are some of our favorite memories from Maui. The cottage truly felt like a home away from home, and so much of that is thanks to Ivy and Steve. They had prepared everything with such care and thoughtfulness. We arrived to homemade banana bread — and were lucky enough to get another loaf during our stay! It was absolutely delicious and, in our opinion, even better than the famous banana bread we tried elsewhere on the island.
